Bareboat Skipper and VHF - SRC
What is the minimum age to participate?
The minimum age for certification is 16 years.
What sea time is required to receive the Bareboat Skipper certificate?
To receive the final Bareboat Skipper certificate, students must complete:
• The required practical training course, and
• A total of 200 logged nautical miles and 10 days at sea by the end of course.
The course itself contributes to this sea time.
If additional miles are required, we will advise on how they can be completed and logged.
What are the limitations of the Bareboat Skipper certificate?
The certificate allows command of a vessel:
• Up to 24 meters (78 ft)
• In coastal waters (up to approximately 20 nautical miles offshore)
• In fair weather and moderate sea conditions
Charter companies may apply additional local requirements.
How does the booking process work?
1. Submit the booking request form
2. We contact you to confirm availability and training dates
3. A training contract is provided for review and signature
4. Payment is made according to the agreed payment schedule
What are the payment terms?
After the contract is signed, payments are made as follows:
• 20% deposit to confirm the booking
• 40% payment no later than 30 days before the course start date to secure the place
• 40% balance payable on the first day of the course
All deposits and advance payments are non-refundable.
Are exams and certification fees included?
Yes.
All required exams and certification processing fees are included in the course price, unless stated otherwise.
Can I take the VHF/SRC course separately?
Yes.
The VHF/SRC radio course can be booked independently and is suitable for sailors who only require radio certification.
